ur info helped solve the game at like the 13th hour with a hour left in eod
I’m ngl I dont’ think I did a whole lot this game
maybe I will actually try and whisper with people next time, or maybe I’ll get ravenkeeper again
I’m having one person that saying they’re not quite having as much fun cuz of some.
Personally sometimes I don’t like it because of flankers, play the game you signed up for, why won’t you??
You tried to pocket me vigorously but all this time you tried to stab me in my puny back!!!
I was just putting an outward demeanour, not to affect you specifically! It was hard because I probably would’ve solved the game D2 if I were good, so obfuscating mechanical sense for no tangible reason painted an unfortunate picture.
I am my own biggest problem.
Just played a game, the Pit-Hag said “Hey wanna be evil to me?” so I accepted it.
I was starting Good Plague Doctor turned Good Wizard.
The Vigor then outed to me so to make the game not end I decided to wish to become an evil townsfolk (Not the sort of shenanigan I’d usually go for). I died that night and evil lost but
Of my 4 games kyubey is the only person to win as demon lol. I dont understand why u guys say evil wins a lot on here it seems super hard because the socials and mech need to align perfectly to create viable worlds
Sometimes itțs not that clear, hippo
Cough cough Pick your poison
Keep in mind that the game you’re contemplating resolved in an alternative Goblin win. Evil’s predominant hurdle is getting past F3, and typically their wincons meet one of the following: having the opportunity to move and/or a backup target (not even to an unsuspected player, it’s just because this typically widens the worlds and makes it harder to narrow down candidates), overrunning the Town with every evil player staying alive in F3 (this is the main way I’ve seen evils win BotF in a while), any alternative wincon ability (Fearmonger, Goblin, Damsel, etcetera), or else having some piece of information clearing the Demon that is too difficult for town to untangle (Demon!Tutuu being cleared by my Pixie claim when two good players were wrongfully locked as evil). If all else fails, the Demon is very likely to be outed and a Minion will need to draw heat instead, but that opportunity can really succeed once.
For me its that on the games i watched on u tube there was some “your sus lol” with mixed success but mostly people were just going off of mech and thats how the game is designed. But because we are all used to pure social reads and good at forum mafia, having to navigate a mountain of social stuff as an additional layer is just super hard
Im more happy about my loss as demon to kiiruma mayor now i know it was partly cuz they just dont claim mayor as evil lol
The games you likely watched were shortform, live games wherein everyone funnelled into untraced whispers with each other so that you could feasibly argue anyone was aligned or that any form of information existed. The social dynamic in such games typically falls down to specific players having favourable town- or scumreads on one another, and fabricating information to support their socials; before everything comes out at the end with two minutes to parse it. Even then victory still comes out as pretty even on balanced scripts.
BotC in longform games has different needs and expectations, you can nearly just approach it as a heavy-mech flagbearer game, but since you don’t need everyone to funnel into separate chats rather than just a few, it effectively falls down to a few players solving privately whilst any esoteric whisper linkings are just innately suspicious and trackable. You can’t just play it like “if most of us act more good than villagers, we’re guaranteed to win.”
With that said, the more invested everyone is the harder it can be for town to win, oddly enough.
I played one game on BotcU and it was enough to make me never go back
I was the artist in a game, I asked an unoffensive “half the grim is the demon” question, narrowed down who the demon was. Well the actual demon was in that and started strong-arming people into voting what they wanted in a really loud and abrasive way. they got snake charmed, so they know the new demon is in 1 of 2 places.
they start demanding that one slot (the mutant) openclaims and dies and they refuse because they don’t want to die, so the ex-demon and the mutant get into an argument in front of the entire game and it’s like “if you’re the mutant just die mate” from the ex-demon and the mutant refusing, while the snake charmer demon is actively saying it’s okay to end the game they’re caught, it was messy
Didn’t play a game 2 still haven’t gone back probably won’t the open argument with the ST doing nothing (and it wasn’t a friendly argument either they were both actively swearing and insulting eachother) was very offputting
I stopped playing on Unoffical a while back. to many noisy people
there used to be a real good group of people in the live section who was pretty fine with each other. maybe the odd asshole but it was chill. quite recently shits getting too much
There was a consistent streak of all-evil F3s but TBF the teams were always good rands
