I think policy-options in general strip away the engagement of player opportunity in longform games, to be fair. An imposed Virgin check feels bad if one player is ganged upon, not because the Virgin exists but it’s compelling a sacrifice to the exception of one player’s own will. In the same sense that outing a top4 information role for the purposes of a Cannibal execution would also feel bad. You’re fair for thinking that.

With that said, a volunteer nominating the Virgin because they want to feel confirmed and solve the game on their own merit without the burden of being needlessly suspected, as Leafia tried in Assassination Classroom, I don’t think that feels bad — it’s just that Virgin is one of the quintessential policy characters so it’s difficult to avoid if you aren’t going to just lie about the role.
