happy Chervil Day
guy I learned about today:
tl;dr: while near a lake, he happened to see that a trolley had crashed into the lake. he decided to leap into the lake and pull out drowning people, saving several people’s lives, after which he developed serious medical complications that ended his athletic career
nine years later he was walking past a burning building, and ran inside to rescue people from the building, suffering severe burns
anyways this man is a hero and a model of ethics but also his life sounds like you took four different utilitarianism thought experiments and crashed them together

if FoL had a poker tournament it would be like the card games (or for some reason duel links absolutely trashing the legacy of yugioh) where every character has an ability that blatantly and radically cheats in various different ways but it’s okay because it just is
