Cookie Thread Act 1: A Cookie in Time

leviathan is perfectly fine, its just slow

what does leviathan do again

do you wanna hear the dumbest botc game ive ever played

ā€œIf more than 1 good player is executed, evil wins. All players know you are in play. After day 5, evil wins.ā€

cant kill, good cant execute much.

pretty much all of botc is a slap to my face
there’s so much shit that’s just ā€œthere because why notā€

back to
I can see how it would do that but that is the role functioning normally

Organ Grinder is a processing slowdown rather than a game slowdown

Which is the worse of the two

botc’s design philosophy is ā€œcharacters are overpowered or break the rules but balance each other outā€.
TB is the best example of this

I don’t much dislike botc’s design from the limited amount of time I’ve spent it
It’s functional

I don’t think its stated goal reflects in the hypeness of the game
the ideal of having overpowered mechanics is it being sick as fuck

But that’s the tragedy of mafia-likes
Being sick isn’t usually a good idea

It’s more of a marvel of design mastery to make the system function well than something I’d like to play

especially whispers
whispers are fucking dogshit for innumerable reasons

Could you give three of them, then?

i love it when two people whisper and then those guys whisper two other people and then…
and then nominate me because ā€œevil pingā€ which was actually fake the entire time

reactiontests are perfectly normal

the major advantage of whispers is that they enable interesting information-based plays but in reality, they just serve to centralize information
your system is never supplemented by whispers it is going to have its back broken by them

they certainly reward people in the know but those outside the know (see botf2) genuinely aren’t playing the game at a certain point

and this of course ignores the fact that mafia is a party game at the end of the day. whispers kind of ignore the things you’d want in a party game

yes but its very non-descript and 90% of the time you get execute for it anyways

this is commonplace
at least in unofficial
