Cookie thread 1 had a cookie on average every 3000 posts, cookie thread 2 had a cookie every 2500 posts, this one has only been around every 1500 posts. The number of cookies is not only inflating, that inflation is accelerating

Cookie thread is about patience, and deprivation. Cookie thread is about living without except for brief flashes of thrill in which you see the cookie close to you. And then it is taken away. Itā€™s like fishing, when youā€™re bad at fishing. The new frequency of cookies allows too many people to leave this thread satisfied

Like. Mild inconvenience to me is just inconvenient. The cookie being, like, 3000 posts away is like oh damn guess itā€™s a kind of pause to the cookieā€¦ throws off the rhythm. Getting 7 hours of sleep is like ugh Iā€™m mildly tired all day this sucks. Being mildly cold is SO obnoxious.

But once the inconvenience is notable enough. A cookie 12000 posts away? Or getting like 4 hours of sleep? Or being out in freezing weather without a coat? Itā€™s like, fun. It keeps me awake. Thereā€™s a sharpness to it. Itā€™s a challenge I can appreciate.
