Cookie Thread Act 9: i like origami

(get a hybrid, they last way longer and cost way less to maintain)

my budget says no

I demand the crocodile’s mom to be called over the phone and scold the crocodile for impolite non-returnal of the child.

used hybrids are not mega expensive or anything?

i assume that just means u found a killer deal on this civic lel

unless you’re saying you’re buying a new car

in which case definitely get a hybrid - it will literally pay off the difference over time, and you’re gonna be stuck with whatever car you snag for a long time

really regardless of new or used it almost never makes financial sense to go non-hybrid unless you find a really killer deal on some ICE car that will outweigh a decade of increased gas and maintenance costs

I could go with a used Prius but I’m not paying to replace that battery when it needs it

And I def can’t afford a new car :skull:

I wish I could live in a carless city where everything you ever need is at walking distance. And when you need to travel to other cities you then get in a car or just get the metro.

This is why I like NYC a lot.

Fortunately in my part of town the streets are sufficiently narrow. Though it gives me a slight unpleasant disorientation when I hear so many cars wooshing past or even tire skrring

most prius batteries seem to last 150k-200k miles so unless you’re looking at a really old car its probably not a concern

you can also just check the battery health and if its not megalow then it’s still pretty likely to pay itself off before it dies (and might even last longer than the ICE car anyways lol)

I do admit that the extreme budget end (if you’re looking like 4k ish or even less) is definitely likely to only hit those “really old” hybrids so like in that case fair enough tbh

Oh yeah, I’ve heard that car batteries sadly don’t have a great lifespan? I only remember this as a talking point while watching a video about Elon Musk tesla trucks

EV batteries often don’t

hybrid batteries are much smaller and do much less work so they tend to last much longer

hybrids stay winning

Fortnite chapter 1 season 8 referen’se

they’re also usually pretty cheap and easy to replace (comparatively) because they are small
