Yeah.
I have a 10-page essay that needs to get done for Tuesday.
Officially, it’s a group project, but the five member group is actually three members because two of them dropped the class, and the other two guys are useless.

Like, “I had to get the teacher involved to contact them” levels of useless.

The only reason i cannot be procrastinating is because i am on an anti-procrastinating zoom call.

Ignore where I am typing right now.

But I have made more progress in the last hour than the whole weekend…

group projects are already kinda dumb but group essays Dont Make Sense. Like, every person has a unique voice that shows in their writing, the essay will not flow as well together bc its hard to connect ideas when its literally Different Brains, and someone ALWAYS ends up doing more work than someone else! Whether that be bc they have to write the whole thing (like you), or bc other people didnt write well enough for whats expected, or other people have grammar errors, etc etc etc

If you wanted to assess someones knowledge, but dont want them to do a 10 page essay, just dont assign them a 10 page essay! If you want them to do a 2 page one, assign a 2 page one! This shit makes no sense! Im angry!

My general approach is that I write a backbone for the essay - what are we trying to say, and how does each section contribute to it - and then have each person approach that in their own way before coming back and connecting everything together.
Everyone will have different voices, but the primary thing is making sure they’re all unified behind the same objective and message.

Like, it’s not gonna be the greatest thing mankind has ever created, but it really doesn’t have to be.
You’re making an argument, and everyone in the group is saying their piece to support that argument.

but why not like, have you make the argument yourself?
