Personally I’d love big cities if there wouldn’t be so many people crowding the place.

I really don’t love people in my personal space and neither do I like dodging people like I’m in some sort of reaction game

I like large cities, but I also grew up in a suburb where you have to drive everywhere, so as someone who didn’t get their driver’s license until after they turned 18, large cities like London and New York feel extremely freeing.

yeah. it’s a fundamental issue of urban planning. like the bike lanes around here are just a fucking nightmare. i think bike infrastructure can be useful and valuable to a community, but sticking that lane directly adjacent to automobile traffic is just fatal to the entire project. it’s like that around here, and there are times where bike lanes just suddenly end or where it’s in-between a straight lane, and a turn lane. it’s just not a waste of energy and resources that could be spent on projects that would be a lot more effective.

True!

I’ve watched a video on how Walmart creates ugly big buildings that are only designed to last like 5-10 years which eventually bankrupts cities due to legislative loopholes. I wonder how many crazy things like these exist.

it’s okay that it’s not for you! i just don’t think that an urban downtown should be designed to accommodate for everyone who wants to go there being able to drive and park their cars nearby, and, in fact, should probably be designed so that’s a really inefficient choice because cars are wildly inefficient. it’s better for everyone (pedestrians, local residents, businesses) if there are fewer cars on the street and it’s easy to get around without a car. there’s going to be higher foot traffic that flows more efficiently, and less noise and pollution etc.

Massachusetts emoji was a thing in like 2018 in a Discord server I was in and then got removed but it’s still a load-bearing part of my online vocabulary
