After looking into a light and closing my eyes I saw a beautiful yellow portal with an orange frame beckoning me to enter yet i couldn’t it wasn’t real it was too far away and it disappeared as soon as i tried to see it i try to see it again i can, but i’m scared i try to look it goes away is this harmful, potentially harming my future to try to placate the endless ocean of yearning i look back at the door right behind me but it’s no different to a wall i am stuck here forever

I’ve got two hours to figure out how to salvage three pages that look like this:

im assuming you didn’t write the original?

depending on your use case this may actually be a decent opportunity to use an LLM to do the heavy lifting

you’re basically just trying to re-word it anyways, yeah?

shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fix once a decent LLM has had a first pass at it, most likely

I gave him a backbone: The government wants Paramount and Skydance to limit DEI and to maintain political neutrality, and so they are using the lawsuit against 60 Minutes and are blocking the merger as leverage to garner concessions from the companies.

Putting aside the grammatical issues, this is both:

  1. Not what we should be talking about with regards to the deal
  2. Using a tone that our professor has told us in as strong a sentiment as possible not to do

We are supposed to be focusing on the deal, not griping about how the Republican Party sucks and is a cult.

(Do note that I am not arguing that the Republican Party is good, nor am I condoning the stuff they’re doing with the merger. I am saying that this section of the paper dives so far into that aspect that it doesn’t actually explore what the government hopes to gain from this. It’s all subjective analysis without any of the objective analysis, and our paper desperately needs the objective analysis.)

This is putting aside that I am the only one who’s put in sources, so I’m gonna have to do that work for everyone else.

still seems like asking chat gpt to write this with a more neutral/unbiased tone might be a good starting point lol

if u have 3 hours take what shortcuts you can

gpt is bad for many things but re-tone-ing writing is one it’s good at

The bigger problem is that I need to dig into what exactly the government wants from this - what DEI policies do they think the company has violated, how do they want the company to stop political concessions, etc. - so it’s not as easy as just LLM-ing it.

ye but u werent ever gonna just copy paste gpt output anyways
