Event Announcement

Dear Valued Citizen,

Please note that the FoL Council is hosting an event today.

Our colony is in urgent need of streetlights to keep our rate of mysterious nighttime deaths low! Unfortunately, many of our new residents have extremely particular requests about the proximity of streetlights to their housing. Some of them canā€™t sleep if thereā€™s any light at all, and others want to be able to see a streetlight from every window! Please help us place streetlights in a way that satisfies everyoneā€™s preferences.

How to Play:

  • Place streetlights in the blank (grey) cells in a way that satisfies the other constraints.
  • Each streetlight lights up its own cell, and also lights up every street horizontally or vertically until it hits a building (a black square, with or without a number).
  • If a building has a number, there must be exactly that number of lightbulbs placed in directly adjacent squares (horizontally or vertically adjacent only, NOT diagonally adjacent)
  • No two streetlights can be placed in a way that they directly shine on each other ā€“ this will make the light too bright and no one will be able to sleep!

How to Join:

  • Submit your completed map in your role PM. Your map must clearly show the location of every streetlight (other information is optional). Once someone has submitted a correct answer, it will be announced publicly.
