Event Announcement

Dear Valued Citizen,

Please note that the FoL Council is hosting an event today.

Agriculture is… you know what, you know the drill here. But despite the paramount importance of agriculture, there have unfortunately been budget cuts to the department responsible for horse enclosures. We need to ensure that our horses don’t escape while keeping the costs of building their enclosures as low as possible. However, to ensure compliance with animal welfare standards, the horse’s enclosure must be as large as feasible within the constraints of the budget.

You are invited to participate in:

Build a Horse Enclosure
Players: Unlimited
Chance of Death: None
Mobile-friendly: Yes
Duration: Until complete, capped at 30 minutes
Discord Access: Not Required

How to Play:

• You will be shown an image of a horse, surrounded by various other features. You will also be given a specified number of walls. Your task is to build the best enclosure you can with the given walls that stops the horse from escaping.
• If you are familiar with enclose.horse, the rules are the same here.
• The horse can move up, down, left, or right, but it can’t move diagonally in a single step. If there is any way for the horse to move to the edge of the grid, it escapes.
• The horse’s path is blocked by water (dark blue tiles) and walls (you are placing the walls).
• You score 1 point for every square of grass (green square with no water, even if there are other features on it) contained within your enclosure.
• You gain 3 bonus points for every bunch of cherries within the enclosure.
• You gain 10 bonus points for every golden apple within the enclosure.
• You lose 5 bonus points for every square of bees within the enclosure.
• You cannot place walls on a square that contains water, a horse, a bunch of cherries, a golden apple, or bees.
• You have a maximum of eleven (11) walls available to you.
• The first player to submit the optimal solution wins a prize.
