What I look for is why was it done and what was there to gain from it.
Ranta says it was done to hero kill Marshal. That is kind of a wash, I don’t really think there was a pressing need to kill Marshal. If she didn’t die at night she would probably get side eyes eventually for being alive for so long despite being a major ITA shot leader. I’m not going to say she was self resolving but she didn’t need to be pushed into a situation like that. So whatever

The main thing here is Ranta tried to leverage this into towncred to profit off of Marshals death. That doesn’t seem like towny behavior to me. Town would be more interested in seeing their personal push get flipped, not trying to look good about it after the fact
