Treestumps are dead players for all intents and purposes. No shots, no events, no abilities, no votes. Kyubey was an exception because it wasn’t a real treestump.
I don’t know why you think you would become a treestump from getting shot by Ranta though, so far as we know that only applied to Marshal due to a nebulously used night ability.
