I did too, but it hasn’t procced on any mafia & we’ve shot a lot of mafia. I didn’t run any significance calculations on it though.

Event Announcement

Dear Valued Citizen,

Please note that the FoL Council is hosting an event today.

We will be hosting a memorial service for all the members of this planet who were tragically sent to jail, as well as for our Minister of Health. Your attendance is requested, so as to avoid the improper impression that any member of our community desired to see these tragedies occur.

You are invited to participate in:

Dead Player Codenames
Players: 4-8 (must be an even number, to ensure fairness)
Chance of Death: None
Mobile-friendly: Kind of
Duration: ~45 minutes
Discord Access: Not required
Other Notes: N/A

How to Play:

  • You will be playing Codenames. If you already know how to play Codenames, you may skip most of these rules.
  • However, unlike standard Codenames, all words will be people who have died this game.
  • You will be split into two teams randomly. Each team will choose 1 player as their Spymaster.
  • Each team will randomly have 9 (for the team that goes first) or 8 (for the team that goes second) words assigned to them. One word will also be designated as the Assassin. The Spymasters know which words are which, while the players do not.
  • Each round, the Spymaster will give a clue to their team via the interface on the Codenames website. Your clue must be a single word, and it cannot be one of the words on the board (or any part of them – for example, you could not give the clue “Zug” for “Zugzwang”, or vice versa). The Spymaster also includes a number with their clue, which typically corresponds to the number of words fitting that clue on the board.
  • Their team then attempts to guess which words match the clue. You may discuss in the forum thread that will be created for the game. The team may submit up to 1 more guess than the number provided by the Spymaster. However, if they guess a word that is not one of their team’s words, play immediately passes to the other team.
  • If any team guesses the Assassin, their team immediately loses.
  • Otherwise, the first team to guess all its words wins.
  • Special numbers: The Spymaster may give a clue of 0 or infinity. “0” means that there are no words for their team related to that clue. Either 0 or infinity allow an unlimited number of guesses (until the team guesses a word that is not one of their team’s words).

How to join:

  • Type /in in the game thread and ping @FAMHost. SIgn-ups will close in 10 minutes, or when full.

Reminder: You may not talk or hint about any ongoing events in any non-event chat, public or private, apart from your role PM.
