Ah… So it was Route 2. Yeah, there is no way for me to win anymore. I forfeit.
There were three possible routes for Ruby after Move 5:
- KO Nbowie with Chloe, and attack Youbie with Garfooled. (Counterplay: Protect Nbowie, KO Chloe with Youbie.)
- KO Youbie with Chloe, and even if Nbowie KOs Garfooled, it’d still become 2v1. (Counterplay: Protect Youbie, KO Garfooled with Nbowie.)
- Switch out Chloe back to Atlas and KO any of my mons with Garfooled. (Counterplay: Youbie doesn’t attack, KO Garfooled with Nbowie.)
If Route 3 happened and Youbie attacked Chloe when Ruby switched that slot to Atlas, then I lose because Atlas would have speed advantage.
I could’ve Protected Youbie in Route 3 as well, but I wanted to complicate Ruby’s play if she were to pick that Route. Because had I succeeded (and used Protect), then it’d still be a 2v2 with one of my mons unable to use Protect.

Heck, even if I had gone with Route 2 and Protected Youbie, then I’d still lose because I had given Chloe the speed advantage.
I thought one of the mons in the back would’ve been MapleMay, so I intended to one-shot it. My misplay was switching sulit’s move last minute from Homoph 30 to Furry 30. Because had I stayed with my decision then Chloe would’ve had less speed than Nbowie. It was an oversight.

i dont know if this was covered in the ruling, but if both of us need to choose a replacement at the same time, whats the resolution?
- we both submit privately, and both revealed at the same time
or
- the mon who was knocked out first chooses a replacement first, and the opponent sees that, and then chooses a replacement
if that scenario happened in folermon 1 (i think it mightve happened?) i think i resolved it the same way it would work in pokemon. but i forgot how pokemon resolves it
