eh technically high priestess can send you to evil players too

Miasma is specifically Xaan at home with a Drunk on setup to define a harder time tracking outsiders and therefore the night of poisoning. A situation which doesn’t track in this context.
if you read the grandmaster almanac it can do things like, say, send you to the damsel because their impact on the game will turn out to be very important indeed
I’d also say that High Priestess just learns fun or interesting people to talk to, and really you aren’t meant to read into why you were told that, just have a good chat and it might be useful later (as an uncharitable explanation); it’s not at all a “collaborate with this person now and forever, they aren’t just good they are your best friend” like Grandmaster.

i only keep them around because i’ve seen them in play enough to tell you they play interestingly and well in a way that’s distinct from the characters they’re very similar to

Question, if the au-wre prevents evil from knowing each other how does an evil traveller know the demon (as stated in op)
