Instrument Calibration (FAM6)

Sure

Arete the host says: “What year is it?”
Angela says: “1000 - 3000” (she thinks the year is somewhere between 1000 and 30000)
That has a width of 2000, so the next player, Bob, must narrow it by at least 200
Bob is pretty confident, so he narrows it by a lot more. Bob says “2000 - 2050”
Now the width is 50 (the difference between 2000 and 2050), so the next player must narrow it by at least 5 (but can do more).
Carol narrows it to 2030 - 2050.
David thinks that’s wrong, so he calls her on it.
If the true year is outside the range, e.g. 2026, Carol is out. If the true year is inside the range, e.g. 2046, David is out.

oh i missed the ping am here

does that make sense?

the important part is mostly the part about narrowing the ranges, the 10% rule is just so that we stop everyone from narrowing the range by 1 each time

is david stupid why did he do that

got it ready owo

@Jinrou are you back

uh I’m dumb
So like for the 5 example
he just needs to make the margin 5 less?

the other important part is the no research rule y’all better not cheat

yes

One question

who decides the answer for the number

Yeah, so Carol could say 2005 - 2050, or 2000 - 2045, or 2002 - 2047, but not 2001 - 2050

how are you gonna research a random number

theyre all factual objective answers i believe

ah ok

sorry is order as stated in first post owo?

OH SO THE WIDTH BECOMES WIDTH - WIDTH/10? Or more?

nah we’re gonna get a png of a jelly bean jar and be asked “how many jelly beans are in this jar”

i imagine itll be posted along with the question

amazing owo

gonna get hit by the “how many posts are in host chat” question again :fire::fire::fire:
