Nicknames mess with votecounts and pings so unless you’re especially set on keeping the account it can often be more convenient to make a new one

username changes (while technically possible) tend to cause some bugs, so we don’t do them unless it’s very necessary
we do set nicknames but yeah as May said they can be confusing in games sometimes

I was on Geist, my friend ivy was on Nurse Harrow, and then we had Lash and Celeste. They had… Kelvin, Haze, Yamato, and… someone forgettable

I was playing super tanky and Ivy had like perfect healing
