I respect people who manage to get jobs that are fun for them and give them a lot of money. I don’t think realistically singular people make an impact to the world, unless you are some albert einstein genius which could happen but just not very likely to so I disregard it. So I don’t have a particular respect for “making an impact”, I’m skeptical at the impact being made. I respect people who manage to make their own lives happy and comfortable

thats fair. my line of thinking is that I could always just google what advanced chemistry concepts mean, but google cannot teach you how to Look at someone when you are talking to them or Wear deoderant every day, making a business degree inherently more usfeul than a stem degree

anyway as a math major i have no grand delusions about doing something real and in fact whether my field is real is a whole subfield of philosophy. but i still have better job prospects than the average humanities major
