i do in fact make the rules. if a character is blatantly a transmisogynistic stereotype it doesn’t matter what they identify as. they are a trans woman being written by writers who don’t think they’re a woman

re: Persona 4 (I have talked about this before): Naoto Shirogane is a trans man and he deserved better than to be given a romance where its peak is dressing femininely for the main character in a display of comphet submission. it makes me lowkey upset every time i think about it.

my roomate went off about him for like 2 hours steaight. Ive never played persona 3 but that entire character is SUCH an injustice
[spoiler]THE MOTIVATION DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE! THEY APPARENTLY DRESS AS A MAN SO THAT THEY CAN FIT IN WITH THE DETECTIVES, BUT YOU ARE LITERALLY NEVER SHOWN THAT THERE IS ANY MISOGYNY WITH THE DETECTIVES! THERE ARE FEMALE POLICE OFFICERS! HIS MOM WAS A FAMOUS DETECTIVE! IT MAKES 0 SENSE!
It’d at least make sense if they stuf only to the “they’re too young and get made fun of for their age” but no! They shoehorn this other thing is and make it seem like thats the root of the problem when theres like, NOTHING to support it! [/spoiler]

yeah he’s particularly tragic because of how heavy handed they communicate that he is trans before doing a transphobic rugpull thinking it’s a good thing.
