Okay, the lore. The recap. I’m not upset to be clear here I’m just baffled and think this is a fascinating story.

So I got broken up with unexpectedly and without explanation on Tuesday, right. I was going to do that eventually but it’s a blow to my dignity etc etc so it’s a suboptimal outcome.

On Friday, yesterday, I went to an apartment party containing my ex of like three days and various mutual friends. I got drunk, like the thing I have not been previously, off of shots of straight vodka. And a terrible mixed drink containing only vodka and grapefruit soda. I did not say or do anything inadvisable but I did end up on the floor in the closet.

While in this closet, a mutual friend of mine and collar person’s, very drunk, having just had a sobbing emotional breakdown over feeling like a burden to everybody, comes up to me and confesses that they have a crush on collar person. Somebody promptly drags them away and tells them not to bother me (as I am lying on the floor in the closet).

The next day, collar person and this mutual friend announce that they are dating. Like three days after they broke up with me for no stated reason. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

They are a TERRIBLE couple, both are very emotionally unstable and have bad habits that they will definitely enable each other with. Me and a friend of mine have just been going “what the fuck, this is unreasonable” for the past like seven hours

Broken into bullet points for your convenience:

  • I entered the closet at around 2:30AM and left the closet at around 6:30AM
  • lay on the floor going wtf until like 7:30AM, when my friend woke up
  • played Smash with him until like 11:30 AM
  • then got coffee with him and 2 other friends (and chatted for a while in the coffeeshop with this nice lady who had a dog)
  • left the coffeeshop with one of those additional friends and started walking back to our dorms around 1:00
  • “stopped in the lobby” of his building and chatted for a bit and ended up talking until 7:00PM
  • went and got dinner with him and the other of the previously mentioned two additional coffeeshop friends and talked about how deeply unreasonable these events were until around 9:00PM
  • then finally showered and got changed for the FIRST time today just now
