You don’t need real analysis! Repeating decimals are rational therefore 0.9999… is rational. Rational numbers are, by definition, any number that can be represented as the ratio of 2 integers. Any fractional representation of 0.9999… is also a representation of 1.

It’s like ~intuitive to me that if 0.3333…=1/3 0.9999…=1 I don’t really get why people are so upset by it I mean I get it but I don’f
