The paladin of our D&D party is a himbo (in character), and believes wholeheartedly that his weapon and armor is magic. They’re not. We have magic items for him to use, but he refuses. Last night, my cleric told him I knew a secret ritual to transfer magic between one item and another, and got him to let me try it on his sword. I told him to close his eyes pray to himself while I performed, and then had my character babble nonsense then sounded like magic words for 10 minutes followed by 3 casts of Thaumaturgy in the last minute to make the sword glow, have the symbol of Tyr hover over the blade, and the sound of thunder to get his attention. The Paladin bought it, and it was really fun. I also cast Dispel Magic on our Warlock’s Guidance she had cast on herself so I could cast my own Guidance (there were other compelling reasons beyond just the bit), but in character it just seemed like a total power move.
