Ya’ll are reminding me that I have no clue where to begin with my dual-degree application.

Granted, I have, like, two months, but I pulled off last time because I already had two stories in mind that worked perfectly with the creative portfolio questions on the application.
No such luck this time.

most dual-degree applications are free so dont stress too much lol

i stressed about mine and didn’t file it in time and kinda got fked over

okay maybe not

The problem is that I applied last year, got waitlisted, and never made it off.

Slightly stressed about trying to figure out how to frame my application as an evolution of my previous application while still broaching new ground about my identity.

in my defense im in engineering and our dual degree applications are “do you meet gpa requirements” and “do you have money”

creative shit might be quite different

possibly incorrect advice but the ppl reading it wont remember your last years application

i applied to grad schools this time last year but my essays were shit and i got rejected, im trying again as if im a completely new person

Oh, they remember.
I went to an info session, and they remembered me and my essays.

This is equally really good and absolutely terrifying, especially since I’m taking a class from the guy in charge of the program next semester.

Another difference I guess, my school was quite larger and it was a rarity that anyone remembered who I was O.o

Best of luck I guess, the more u stress about it the worse your results will be

they can always just pull up ur old file

this being said I doubt they would dock you for either approach if handled well

that is in fact probably the opposite of how it really works

did u ever ask them why they swapped

no but i see the school they swapped to and like. i’m pretty sure it’s not an elite math school

okay and there are a bunch of reasons you might swap to a school with a conventionally-worse department in your field

drawing assumptions instead of just reaching out to ask is silly

yeah but reaching out to ask takes effort :(
