Well, you only know it’s complex because I told you how complex it was for me to solve. If your program just crashed with a bus error, you may not know. That’s part of my point. Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know.
Edit: also it looks like it did not offer context that the first cause just doesn’t happen anymore unless your processor is ancient, so it really was the worst version of a response it could give
