I have been returning to the catch-up. I am going to post this before completion to give people more of a chance to read and comment on it before end-of-day.

This post feels like a nervous opener, something overly well-thought-out. There are several additions, as if Memekingpizza sat and looked at the post before sending it and found himself with additional points of clarification beforehand. This is the strongest wolfread I’ve found on an opener so far, though that may just be a symptom of the fact that I am coming back to the game refreshed.

Interesting. I should likely give the roles another read through to see how I genuinely feel about Zone_Q11’s claim with full context, but I am rather pressed for time. With this role existing, I am willing to move Zone_Q11 up in my mental read list. Thank you for clarifying.

This is quite a relaxed post, something seeming as if Kiiruma is completely unconcerned with votes. I like it, but I do not think it unfakeable, and it is almost laying it on too thick for me to feel confident about it. If future posts from Kiiruma betray any nervousness, I would find this inconsistency wolfy – if he manages to stay in this mindset he projects here, I would find it towny.

In theory, I should be able to assess this opener – whether it is a natural entrance to thread, whether or not it is awkward… however, I cannot manage a single thought about it. Even calling it wolfy for its strong neutrality feels wrong. I suppose that is the point of such an opener.

I like this read from Daeron, and I feel more confident declaring him villagery off of it – it is a natural thing to notice, though I don’t quite entirely agree, and making the connection to a previous game is something a wolf wouldn’t as naturally do.

Similarly, I like Daeron’s confidence here, though I don’t think it especially town-indicative, just something that helps reinforce an existing townread. Chomps… is difficult at this stage.

I find this thought process realistic and I essentially agree with Hazardwaste’s assessment on the posts by Kiiruma. Opening with a read on a specific player is ultimately rather neutral for me as a way to enter thread. Hazardwaste is very lightly towny here.

I do not actually understand what Daeron is saying here, but I find its tone villagery.

I do not think Amelia and Daeron to be wolves together here – I was not wolfreading Daeron in the first place, so this is not a useful conclusion, but that is my thought. It is a rather neutral post from Amelia independently.

I actually find this post to be slightly stilted and it is giving me pause about my earlier townread on Willow. Not enough to fully neutralize it, but enough to pull her back down to Earth.

This is a message I find wolfy. It is indirect and undermines arguments rather than making an argument of its own, it is factually inaccurate (Kiiruma had posted several messages at this point), and it feels like it could come from a place of knowledge that these arguments are correct. It does essentially make the same point of finding Willow’s post to be stilted, but it misses the mark of… why. It’s not that Willow is confident in Kiiruma being evil, it is that she uses an overly casual tone and pushes the read off onto other people. Chomps is also… one to talk about strongly reading somebody as evil early on off of a few messages.

I do not think this post is paired with Kiiruma, though.

This at least corrects the factual error, but it is a completely silly thing to do – the second post is something I find to be highly alignment-indicative. Why ignore it? Tone and reaction are an important part of reading players in mafia.

I like this response from Atlas. It shows a confident demeanor.

Amelia has continued to post rather neutral-feeling messages after that opener I did not like and participating extensively in a mechanical discussion and nothing else – it has been long enough without substance that I am now comfortable declaring them a light wolfread, similar to Kelsier.

This is an actual argument rather than just batting down other people’s reads, but I still do not like it very much. It is highly hypocritical from Chomps, betraying a feeling of inconsistency that feels conclusions-first, and I wonder why Chomps did not provide this justification initially rather than using awkward shutting-down of reads in the earlier posts.

Hypocritical. This is killing people off of one read.

I agree, and I am glad we have found common ground on some issue.

This is an awkward post.

I do not find this to be solid reasoning. Wolves are not machines, and players do not take the same actions over and over again. There is no reason why a wolf Chomps could not or would not decide to treat his partners differently than in previous games. I do think Chomps and Kiiruma are not likely to be aligned, but I find the ask for previous context to be misplaced.

I like the casual tone and shutting-down of an argument here, though catbae does not seem the type of player who could not fake this, especially against such a weak and bizarre case.

I don’t find this assessment unreasonable – I can see the angle, and coming back to the posts they do seem a bit excessive in their blatantness. However, it does not change the fact that the arguments Chomps is putting down fundamentally do not make sense as a mindset, especially from the type of player that I know Chomps to be. I do not see why a wolf Chomps would post this way… but I also cannot see why a town Chomps would ever post this way.

catbae appears to have a high level of confidence here, with ability to shut down and ignore reads that do not track to him rather than feeling obligated to consider every single detail as new wolves might. However, he is not a new wolf, so I still find myself without much strength of opinion. I think this individual call is fair – Hazardwaste was not especially strongly indicative of an alignment either way, though I found him very mildly villagery, personally.

This isn’t an especially good argument – wolves do not have leashes on their partners, and I find it awkward and can build a world in which it is borne of annoyance against Chomps. It feels like an odd thing to say and does not help my read on Kiiruma. It also has a sense of pressure and nervousness that I noted I would find wolfy from Kiiruma in the future.

that’s social stuff
it doesn’t do anything if town doesn’t let me

oh that sucks

it’s still better than me im a basic doctor with extras being boring

we’ve agreed before

Yes, but this was on broader game-state rather than an individual player’s alignment. I believe we had disagreed on essentially every alignment call prior to that point.

i believe that’s simply “chomps ai”, for the record

that’s where my neutral read came from, forsooth. but the problem is i’d expect chomps to be doing more, unless they were practically just a LW ‘neut’.

this is my readlist so far, rhea.

congratulations on claiming for no reason

:sob:

reminder to the evil team that i am a bad choice to convert because i am an idiot with mechanics and get default sussed for being alive

atlas is too persuasive

A rough sketch of my current reads:

Daeron t
Willow lt
Zone_Q11 lt
Frostwolf103 lt
Hazardwaste nt
catbae nt
Atlas n
childe n
soweli n
Kelsier nw
Memekingpizza nw
Kiiruma lw
Amelia lw
Chomps lw

I am happy to discuss any of these individual reads. Currently, the two main wagons are on players I have absolutely no read whatsoever on, and it is a bit late to be especially exploratory with my vote. I will be holding off on placing a vote until I am closer to catching up for the moment, though I would be interested in potentially pursuing a new wagon on Kiiruma or Amelia if I do not find childe or soweli particularly wolfy in the remainder of my catch-up. Both have singular votes from players I townlean at the moment.

i chained my mind on kiiruma so much in that small space that i honestly don’t quite know what it is anymkre

  • people sussing me so it’s better to claim

what
i missed that

you aren’t even a wagon tf

i didn’t ask them to claim
i asked them if they liked their role
