It isn’t a trap. It’s just mech-heavy / complex.
The structure of this game is based on Throne of Lies, which in turn is based on Mafia (the game). ToL is a real-time game (e.g. Town of Salem) with an in-built bleed mechanic and last will mechanic, and this community had essentially reformatted the roles so much to make it forum-friendly.
For anyone’s first time playing this type of game, it will naturally be overwhelming, but if you like mech a lot, then this game is neat.

I can see how in this game in particular a game where there are a lot of possible roles could be overwhelming at first. I feel it gets easier as the game goes on and the uhm…“possibilities” narrow themselves down, so to speak

By late-game, your optionality becomes much smaller by virtue of flips, massclaims, and the cap on mafia being 3 members.

even then it’s really fuckin hard to communicate that a deposed bd king becomes a squire but remains a lost wolf and how that works so we just didn’t

What describes a mirrored setup
where the usual majority and the usual minority is switched out.
