mass claiming in closed setups is never a good idea because it gives mafia needless information and town kind of sucks at figuring mechanics out anyway.

I dont get that impression tbh. That vote feels more like town Tutuu to me who is trying to get things moving by attaching themselves to a vote. See what shakes out. I would lean town for tutuu for that.
