And yeah, by gaining information on the mafia books they gain more power. It’s now matter of executing the right mafia, even though we have no idea when we see a flip.
I actually don’t entirely disagree. At best, it might be fine to burn books of flipped townies? But that too seems risky. I’ll consider my opinion on book burnings more tomorrow. Since they clearly are a very important mechanic in the game;
Moreso, I don’t think the Unstable Book of the Black Silence has given us that powerful information to “counter” the role. Even though it is good to know that Mafia have an investigator on hand with those abilities.
Well, we burned one Town Bookhunter. As much as I believe in the existence of Mafia Bookhunter, there is nothing preventing the existence of other Town Bookhunters.
As for digging up Achro… I guess you meant burning the [Book of Esther, Index Proxy]? If so, then… the most Town gets out of it is learning the general description of Achro’s role. I feel like there is not much to be gained there for any non-Bookhunters, and more to be gained by the Mafia Bookhunters.
Leafia, the only stable Books are from Pandora -whose flip is already revealed- and from Achro. Why would we want to know what Achro’s role is?
–unless you mean to say that we should burn Unstable Books, in which case… IDK, actually. If we go strictly by the wordings, then burning any Books ought to give Bookhunters 1S abilities. But it just… doesn’t make sense from a designer’s POV…
–okay, y’know what? I won’t be opposed to burning Unstable Books anymore. However, I still see no reason to burn stable Books.
No. That just increases the odds of Bookhunters gaining more (1S) powers, and we have no means of disproving the existence of Mafia Bookhunters.
Okay, so you studied some Ruina lore regarding Proxies and whatnot, but how does that benefit Town? More specifically, how does the burning of stable Books not benefit Mafia?
Mafia start with Key Pages; they don’t gain them upon burning an Unstable Book.
–and with that, I see zero reason not to burn Unstable Books. Town literally just gains info on non-Town roles, and -by the hosts’ words- the odds are lesser that non-Town Bookhunters gain any 1S abilities from burning these Unstable Books.
Jarek asked for them in the neighborhood so I posted them there and figured I should do so here too. Only difference between the neighborhood’s list and this one is that I had Jarek as null and still had Pandora and Achro on it. The neighborhood is really making me realize I could be wrong about Jarek being a wolf.
