Counterpoint:

You have been judged and found wanting but you donā€™t know why and can only guess as to what it is was that made it so you didnā€™t make the cut. You know youā€™re good, and yet.

It especially stings when it happens multiple years in a row.

I think you could figure out why you didnā€™t advance as opposed to other people, though? Itā€™s not like really hard to look at your play in a game and figure out where you could have improved.

Thereā€™s a difference between a vague idea of why and an actual concrete reason

Not to mention that is entirely possible that there is something that you yourself canā€™t see

I just know that I personally would rather get told exactly how I failed to measure up than have to blindly guess what it was I was lacking in.

i feel like every year jury advances people and everyone goes ā€œwow! i wonder why they made that advancement! that defintley doesnā€™t feel correct to me?ā€

and then we just accept it and mvoe on
and the reasoning of ā€œit might hurt peoples feelingsā€ is likeā€¦ fairly flawed imo? theres also other benefits, largely of improving play and understanding where your mistakes were (compared ot the rest of the players in teh game). Bias also like, Does Exist, and acting like it doesnā€™t is stupid (even if the bias is small most of the time, it still exists!)
