FWIW, I don’t remember much from Wiretapper aside from getting a message from a Mafia saying something like “You killed tutuu. We will avenge him by killing you.” and then dying on Night 2. (I remember this, because I remember I was confused how the heck they mentioned tutuu, before remembering that tutuu was a dead player, and thus unaffected by the restrictions.)

(…wait. “Avenge tutuu”? Was I the cause of tutuu’s death in that game?)

…my point is: Yes. I genuinely have severe memory loss about that game.

Its basically a red check sans “host lowkey lying” and “lets design a customly built mafia role specifically to fuck with this town role that ended up randed to tutuu”, imo

Im characterising it as “soft” because its an experimental closed setup game, not because my informaiton is ambiguous

I would unambiguouslu have a red check as far as my information is concerned, like its not a gamble on my part

I just don’t have control over the unknown mafia abilities, no knowledge of how custom they are, of how experimental the game is

Let me get this straight.

1. You are claiming to have a role of which its design appears to fit the Mafia team.
2. IDK what the thing is about experimental closed setup, so I will ignore that part.
   But essentially, you will get a red check if you get the Mind Boggle ability.
3. You won’t have control over the Mafia abilities that you will get.

…see, if you had only said (1) and (2), then I’d have chalked it up as information hazard; a matter I mentioned in P#350, which you didn’t respond to.

However, what exactly do you mean by (3)?
Why wouldn’t you be able to control (i.e., use) the Mafia ability you’d get from the Mind Boggle?

I can out a member of the mafia by giving them my abilities. They are forced to take my abilities (if i win the event). I don’t want to say it out loud to not let them farm me for anti claim. It is possible for a villager to indirectly out a wolf via this

See, there’s one issue with that: IDK how “knowing what you have” will result in any self-incriminating red check from the Mafia… party.

Never mind, I curse my brain for its creativity. Technically, I can come up with at least one way to “soft red check” a Mafia, but that involves a “thing” that I doubt players will like. (I.e., I doubt that is in the game.)

Moreover, the reason why I scumread you to begin with was… Huh… Hang on, if the root of your red check is… Okay, I gotta be careful right now, because I am realizing a way wherein you can be Town.

(Still though, I’d prefer if you focus on the social aspect of this game, rather than the mechanical aspect of the Mind Boggle.)

I don’t use whatever logic you are using, but I believe Ranta is not lying based on my gut.

However, as I have said in P#349, I unfortunately also believe that it is a good choice to execute her. (Even though -assuming she is not lying, she took the best choice possible of informing the Town about her role.)

Still… I kinda pity her. I would rather vote someone else out Today than Ranta. (And by “someone else”, I mean tutuu, because I do not believe his posts could be made by a Town member.)

Targeting the person a lot of us are voting for mind boggle would also (assuming Tutuu actually wins that vote) give his team tutuu’s power while giving town no benefit

Its Day 1, why are we so paranoid that I will kill 5 villagers if I win this event and im not town. Read the event description again please. It says “if a wolf wins it, they gain and lose nothing”

If u guys want to make it impossible for w!tutuu to win, that comes with the drawback of making it super difficult to win with t!tutuu. So what happens when we both rand town.

I have 2 passive abilities. They are loud and public and confirmable. They would get transferred to a wolf. Thats the mech. Its bad for the wolf to have them (bad for them, not bad for us)

Its not impossible that my role was balanced to have the power budget of a 1-shot cop. I was a 1-shot cop in Library of Ruina. Mafia had a 3-shot vig. Idk

Actually I just realized that I should just claim them. They will read them anyway when they receive them, if i win. And the risk of villagers not voting me for this is super concerning to me, I dont understand why im receiving such tremendous pushback and i suspect multiple wolves are manipulating the conversatiom. Ok fine they can anticlaim me for 1 point

My 2 passive abilities are:

• as long as im alive, mafia factional kill is transformed into a factional day poison

• when this factional day poison occurs, i get put into a neighborhood with that target

So if a wolf received this, the wolf gets put into this hood, not me. Then i would have simply asked the poisoned player to reveal that name itt. And thats my soft red check. Soft because mafia could have custom abilities, they could have control over this ability swapping event, this ability swapping event could have been false all along, they could have ability swapping abilities, and god knows what. A neutral could be factional poisoned and lie about their hood partner. Or even a wolf. So thats why i wasnt characterizing as a hard red, its a hubris to do so in an experimental closed setup game

I suppose now they can just holster the poison if they don’t wanna out a wolf, if i win this event. But they already coulda probably done that even if i didnt claim coz they could just read the ability that was given to a wolf. So. Ok I guess i either make a red check or i force the wolves to holster until i receive my ability back, which I believe should be EoD2. So maybe that delays them being able to kill until D3. Not exactly sure

If i dont win this event we are getting none of that

There’s a difference between targeted 1 shot cop and untargeted; this would be a wolf magnet that’s guaranteed to get a redcheck and is unblockable by the wolves, can fuck up a wolf’s entire shit at random

(But now that you claim it, obviously they could holster the poison, they might even have passive-disabling abilities, I think this is within design space)
