I think ive pretty much played this as poorly as mechanically possible without actively throwing

Yeahh i didnt really consider that at all. I thought if i had successful attacks first few turns id double up merchants a few times and then could get a ton of early barracks from there to eliminate a few ppl

i probably have more merchants than you so if you happened to delete everyone else i’d almost definitely win off of that alone.

i made like 5k gold this turn but if I decided to pour everything into merchants, I would start next round with 91,000 gold
you probably missed something. According to my calc, a merchant/market focused Spartan would have 139800 gold at the start of round 7, (altough it wouldn’t have enough warriors to protect their 1000 merchants.)
but it still less than the theorical maximum of the egyptians more than 1,5 million gold. (and it is only true if they focused on purely on markets/bazaar and they have the same issue as the merchant focused spartans of not having enough defenders.)
(although this formula didn’t take account if they used some villagers/farm combinations.)

I’ll help you out. I’m set to attack you in Round 6 but going to change that action. I’m Cloudmane, one of those with a chance of winning. I currently have more gold produced than anyone else right niw. Attacking Kevin Round 6 too.
I’m using a little less than half my force for each one.

alternatively I could not invest a non-zero amount of time in a minimalistic 4X Forum Game
because at that point it’s not a game, it’s just a math problem, and I’d prefer to use gaming intuition in place of that
