So these were the optimal approaches to the game:

In order:
- Farms-Markets-Barracks ratios mean how you should divide the gold you get per round. Rank 1, if they got a thousand gold at start of round, would go 588-387-25 => 600-400-0 on Farms-Markets-Barracks.
- Spies budget is how much you spend on spying. There was more to this in the actual program, but all the numbers were 0.
- Convert 10% of your villagers to merchants.
- Wait to buy your unique building until at least that specific round.
- Attack an enemy if you know that your army is at least {attack_threshold} of your enemyâs, and commit {attack_commit_frac} of your soldiers to your attacks.

thatâs it, thereâs no more rounds
balance/design aside, thinking about the gameplay decisions: i think that people tunnel visioned their unique buildings too much. three players built their unique building on turn 1, when building 2x of the respective regular one was objectively better. marluna had a better opener than daeron, and she also went all in on economy and she scaled the most during the mid game (and by midgame i mean round 5-6). i was completely convinced she was going to win on round 5-6, she had 500k villagers and 9k merchants when daeron had 180k villagers and 1.3k merchants, but then she kept not making any markets, so daeron caught up and overtook her. i think that she, just like almost everyone else, ended up tunnel visioning her unique building, which for her was focusing on villagers when it was time to focus on gold instead. GGs again!
yeah, not making any Markets was my bad.
I thought solo farm method is ahead of the game, for anyone who is focused on their special resources.
ill take joint second place
can you critique my gameplay so i know how to improve for next time
Thoughts from me is:
- great premise for misc
- scaling a bit much and im clearly not as good as maths as anyone else so maybe change how that stuff works
- options to spend gold on more things (embassies to establish a dm to other ppl shld be all nations)
- a lot needs to be tweaked but id join again i think
The game needs to be sufficiently complicated that making an excel spreadsheet to optimize your moves isnât feasible in any way
