The purpose of the mechanic is to get townies to consolidate wagons EoD too much. E.g - town will realise if only a few people are on a wagon then the mark will be more obvious. Therefore townies will need to vote on popular wagons.
This is good for evils as it makes it easier to control votes eod and cause more voting chaos.

being a bastard game there’s a chance it’s fake but the last time i assumed something didn’t exist the lying darkness won
i don’t think it’s a total dealbreaker to play as if there is a chance it exists and have more wagon consolidation, i don’t even think it’s that scumsided to do so

I’m inclined to put fairly little weight onto the Mark of Annihilation/Art of Transmutation stuff?
I think the ability has a pretty high chance of being a red herring of sorts as a way to disincentivize us to actually execute someone Day 1. The ability is pretty much the poster child of being unfun/powerful, in that it either does noting or ends the game.

To me, the simplest way to remove the risk of that ability is to cut it off at the source by eliminating the player responsible for it.
If anything, my concern is that it is not intended to be guessed on its own, and is simply intended to serve as a way to prevent further debuffs from being claimed.
