also, how do i read Pandora, i dove a town game, so the posting feels about the same, but later on in that town game, they did some some serious solving, so I kinda guess for now, Im okay with town leaning them? and hopefully I can see the solving I saw in their town game

For the moment, I don’t think there’s anything we can do about Mark of Annihilation besides play along and consolidate wagons. I agree with Hippo in that there’s probably more to it, but I imagine that’s something we’ll piece together as we go along rather than something that can be solved for right this instant.

I think his point is that if he (as presumably a town member) got that, mafia could have gotten similar things.
I strongly agree that this isn’t a reason to discard mech entirely, but I understand his perspective here.

We can’t trust mech to straight-up give us the answers, but we can analyze how people respond to the purported mech.

For example, you could have used the Innocent Child reveal on a contentious slit to generate reads, to see how people would respond to that slot being “confirmed town”.
We’re not asking you to blindly trust mech, but that doesn’t mean it’s inherently useless. We can find meaning in how it shapes discussion.

We’re not townreading meowls for the clear in and of itself; we’re townreading them for the use of their ability in a towny manner with solid progression to back it up.

Tutuu, we’re aware that mech can be manipulated, and we make reads with that in mind. I appreciate that you want to keep skepticism, but the important thing is to maintain healthy skepticism, not paranoia.

all this stuff is just riffing off what other people are saying and commenting on the public mechanics, there’s no original thoughts, no insights, nothing that shows any attempt at actually solving the game or caring about other people’s alignments, the thing snarking at gummy for saying tutuu is obnvious town is weird because it’s not like it was something he had articulated himself really, and i kind of don’t think that’s what a townie cares about here?

also he hasn’t posted in a day and the last time i saw him as mafia he basically hard slanked until he finally got killed

Some notes on the typical Relm gameplan for people here who do not know me:

1. I am autistic, and have a lot of quirks associated with it. I wrote an article on MU about it that I will shamelessly plug at every opportunity since it also lists some of them which might be helpful. The most obvious form this takes is a habit to post very overexplainy, very roundabout, or very literal to the point of not allowing misunderstanding purposefully sort of walls about the game, how I feel oog, etc. An example of one of these is that I will start multiple chains of interconnected thoughts, and then when typing will accidentally substitute the name of one for the other.

E.g. from a recent game “I am doctor, I used my action last night on Codex.” and “Only Destroyer_of_Senses has not CC’d me” turned into me referring to a hypothetical where I meant to refer to Destroyer as doc and talk about how it would not make sense for them to be the doctor, but because I tripped myself up I said Chloe instead. I’ve also done this in cases where I think of people who have names that start with the same letter, players who have similar vibes that don’t stand out, etc.

2. I am a very emotionally driven and invested player. More than anything I try to be as understood as possible and I try to ensure that I do not let me team down. These are my two core tenants.

3. I tend to solve players by building up a knowledge base and comparing them to other players I’ve played before of similar ‘archetypes’. It’s hard to explain the specifics but I try to get their full range, weigh it against any other mitigating factors (WIM, oog situation to the degree I am aware of it, general playing strength, similar players and how they handle x y and z situations, etc) and use that to get reads. If you read this line I want you to reply to this post with an emote; don’t tell anyone and lets see who is lazy lol. When I don’t find anything doing that I rely on my intuition to tell me the highest % odds wolf flip from trying to read into the threadstate itself since I like to think I am a good wolf and am actively thinking “how would I/how would x person as a wolf be taking advantage/reacting to all of this that is occuring?”
