- “Potion” - Target a player. They will be healed (protected from attacks and cured from bleeds, poisons and infections) tonight.
- “Teleport” - Target a player. Anyone else targeting them will target you and anyone targeting you will target them tonight.
- “idk” - Target a player. At the start of the day, it will be announced that every living player can privately vote on whether that player is innocent or guilty. If there are more guilty votes than innocent votes at EoD, that player will die alongside the day’s elimination.
Day Spells:
- “Haste” - Target a player. The following night, they will be given an option to use their non-factional night action twice (provided they have enough uses left), but, if they decide to do so, they won’t be able to use that action the night after. If they have several night actions, they can decide to which ones this effect should be applied to (they can choose multiple).
- “Slow” - Target a player. The following night, they will not be able to use their non-factional night actions, but the night after that they will be able to use them twice (provided they have enough uses left).
- “Entomb” - Target a player. On the following night, all actions on them will fail and they will be roleblocked.
- “Sneaky” - Target a player. On the following night, their night actions will be ninja (invisible to tracking/watching and similar abilities). They can decide to which actions the effect will be applied to.
- “Dispel” - Target a player. Illusions present on them, as well as magic effects not caused by their role, will be removed. This will also unlock their Awakened ability if they have one.

Night - At the start of the day it will be announced that the castle teleported to a new location - Hell, and that everyone has an option to apply for Hell citizenship (which requires submitting an application of up to 66 words to the Emperor of Hell). You, as the Emperor of Hell, will be able to read these applications when the following night begins, and optionally, on that night, you will be able to visit up to 3 players that sent you an application to grant them the citizenship (they will receive corresponding feedback).
note: passive is that they can’t use killing abilities ever, even if acquired somehow. But if they get a bomb from role 6, for example, they can pass it to someone else. If they get into Short Fuse, I inform them they can use detonate inside it, because they can sense what they have is a detonator to a toy bomb.

- Mafia requires parity to win rather than the total obliteration of the town faction.
- Nightless.
- Mafia have a factional chat, but do not have a factional kill.
- Days are 24 hours long.
- There are no eliminations.
- There is no requirement for activity or effort whatsoever.
- You are allowed to discuss the main game in this thread.
- If a player dies in the main game, they will be modkilled in this game.
Game Gimmick
Each player has a bomb strapped to them.
At the beginning of the game, each player is publicly given a detonator. On whom, is determined randomly.
At any point, you may type /detonate in the game thread to kill the player whose detonator you hold.
When a player dies, the detonator they hold is given to the player who holds their detonator, so if A can kill B and B can kill C, if B dies, A then has the detonator to kill C.
A player may detonate a maximum of one player per 24 hours.
If no one dies during a Day, a random player will be exploded at the end of it.
Once the player who has your detonator types /detonate, you can no longer detonate anyone.

Soul Thief
List of abilities:
Blood - (Night) Target a player. They will die tonight if and only if you die tonight. This ability will do nothing in case the kill on your target bypasses protections.
Cat - (Day) Post an image of a cat or a cat-related creature. If the post with it gathers 5 or more likes, gain a 1-Use instant neighborizer that you can use at day on any player that liked that post. The neighborhood will last until either of its members dies.
Circle - (Day) Target 11 players (you can target dead players, but at least 2 targets must be alive). They (together with you) will be publicly announced to be members of the secret faction, Knights of the Round Table. During the following night, all living Knights will be able to privately vote on a player to roleblock. The player with the most votes will be roleblocked, and in case of a tie no roleblock will take place. Results of the vote will not be revealed.
DNA - (Passive) You have been infused with plant DNA. As such, every day, a random fruit will grow on your body. As a night action, you can give a fruit you have to another player (they will be informed that it was you who gave it to them). Fruits can be eaten at any time, but don’t do anything. The fruit giver action has unlimited uses.
Eye - (Night) Target a player. Their Awakened ability will be unlocked.
Gear - (Passive) You are permanently immune to non-killing negative abilities that are performed on you by roles that have a Magic Class. Magic Classes are: Wizard, Sorcerer, Warlock.
Guitar - (Night) Submit a song of your choice. Link to it will be posted at SoD by the host.
Crown - (Passive) Your vote will count as 1.5 for the rest of the game. This fact will not be reflected in votecounts.
Looking Glass - (Night) Target a player and learn what soul fragment they have and what it would do if you obtained it.
Rainbow - (Passive) You are a part of the married private chat.
Shield - (Night) Put a bulletproof vest for tonight, protecting you from a single attack.
Skull - (Day) Target a dead Guest and select a non-killing night ability they had. You will gain 1 use of that ability, provided it’s an unlimited use ability or its uses were not fully spent. No player can be targeted more than once in this fashion.
Spiral - (Night) Write a message of up to 50 words and target a player to send them that message, presented as part of night feedback from hosts (it won’t replace regular feedback).
Sword - (Night) Make the target player immune to roleblocks and redirections tonight.
Rings - (Night) Target three players. You will learn whether there was a visit from any one of them to any other.
Pentagram - (Night) Cast a Light cantrip in your room. You will be informed of which players visit you tonight.
note: Soul Fragments are symbols in lower right corner of the role. Thief isn’t aware of this at the start of the game, but it’ll be obvious when I add other symbols to their rolecard. By default in case of multiple fragments the rightmost one is stolen.

note: Regarding investigations: role peek would only return faction, tracker sees [Unknown] (but track doesn’t fail) unless the target was the same in all worlds (would still see, for example, factional kill if mafia neighbor does it, since it’s not related to the role), watcher would fail to see just the neighbor visit, cop still works fine. Dagoth ur’s count might give fractional number of players.
Example of Blessing Bestowal interaction:
Neighbor A would bless whoever he visits (per public announcement). He uses Doctor/Meddler and Vigilante/Doctor to doctor X outside of the Knot. X does not get blessed since it would resolve the superposition paritally (it would mean A can’t be Meddler/Vigilante role). But if A uses two roles to doctor B who is another Knot member, then the blessing does always happen in the worlds where B is Meddler/Vigilante (because A is always either Doctor/Meddler or Vigilante/Doctor there), therefore 1 of 3 roles that B has (Meddler/Vigilante) receives blessing and is awakened.
Another scenario:
Current blessing criterion is - a random player who visits X (player outside the knot).
Neighbor A targets X with doctor from Doctor/Meddler and Vigilante/Doctor. A player Y from outside the Knot also targets X.
In that case Y always receives the blessing, because even considering A in the rand would partially resolve the superposition. (and it’s not like I can do the rand in some worlds and not do the rand in others, because Y has to get a definitive result on whether they got blessed).
But if no one other than A attempts to visit X… Then A’s Doctor/Meddler and Vigilante/Doctor get awakened, since they are always the ones getting blessed in corresponding worlds.

note: this isn’t a player, but an NPC on Cattail 5.0 account. I will join the game on it in signup thread. When it doesn’t have a player to assist, I’ll make 1 post from the account saying that I want to play and make new friends or something.

What is awakened and how does that happen?
The host notes about the setup:
I formatted them in a way that would be more digestible to you, who didn’t see this game run 162 times before, from a hypothetical PoV of the setup designer who ran it just once.
In my opinion, the setup was slightly-to-moderately scumsided (in a vacuum).
However, several factors contributed to it becoming de-facto strongly scumsided when it was actually run:
- The modkill obviously contributed to Town getting behind in numbers in an unintended way.
- The neighborhood unraveled in BY FAR the most disastrous way possible for town. Not only both town neighbors died extremely early (and didn’t have time to use much of their abilities), the knowledge that Gummy had access to a vigilante shot was lost with their death. The way the neighborhod was designed, Gummy wasn’t supposed to have absolute free rein to make a wolf-sided shot. When Gummy claimed the shot, it was too late and at the point where town was pretty lost.
In case you want a scenario showing how the neighborhood could very well swing another way - you can imagine a hypothetical where Gummy gets eliminated D1, giving Hazard and Terminator access to two town-controlled vigilante shots instead of gummy’s wolf-controlled shot (extreme variance in KP). I did know that the Knot is inherently volatile, and I guess it’s debatable if the gimmick was worth it.
Overall town neighbors were intended to keep the mafia neighbor vig at least somewhat in check in the “average” scenario, but this didn’t happen. - Hazardwaste essentially had a full vig shot on N1 (he wasn’t blocked that night and no wolves had any protection). It went unused, albeit there existed sensible reasons to holster.
- Chomps decided not to perform a peek N1, even though I thought it would be well worth the risk on N1 (I guess it could be argued). There were no godfather/miller/framer abilities in the setup that could mess with faction peek, so a well placed peek could have changed the tides.
- Priestess of Truth (Town flip untamperer) didn’t submit an action on N2 (they could use it every night). This would have also most likely cleared them if submitted on snowe, and town would have a lot of information to think about too (and be less confused).
5.5) Related, but O.kazo seemed very confused about their role and even the win condition. Practically they were a normal Guest in everything but name. I’ll accept a part of blame for that since the flavor was probably too convoluted. But O.kazo did confirm they understood their win condition on N0, so I’m not sure what happened (of course, I might be misunderstanding their play). - “Everyone is town” theory was well beyond my predictions. When I was making this game and the flavor, it never occured to me that players could reach that conclusion (obviously I didn’t put anything into flavor intentionally to suggest that). The theory unfortunately derailed the town to a significant degree and made them waste the most potent town killpower on an NPC (in a situation where hitting a wolf was critical).
The weird thing is that no one thought to ask the hosts about that theory. I would have confirmed that at least one non-Guest evil player exists among the living players and needs to be defeated per the win condition.
I think if catbae is detonated on D4, and people can see his False Face and Veil abilities (monumental information imo), then town would have a chance to understand what has been going on and win (still a small chance, but it existed).
More thoughts on variance: if Meme gets executed on D1 instead (which was plausible to happen), and no modkill happens, the entire game plays out very differently. I think it’s not impossible in this setup that town could get a snowball momentum instead and just win. I suppose such swing just comes with the territory of designing a game like this.
I admit I might have made an rookie mistake by underestimating the difficulty of navigating a game like this as town mechanically and overestimating town’s optimality in actions when I considered balance of this game, which is why I would still accept that the setup is scumsided overall.
To be clear, I’m not blaming any players for this.
Regarding the flavor: it was too convoluted and no one understood well how it connects to the mechanics, so I have conflicting feelings on the storyline overall.
In addition, I might be hosting my games too rarely, because many players aren’t familiar with my style and cleared wolves for just the fact of them having certain roles.
Notably Memekingpizza’s Spirit Medium, and to some extent Hippo’s “miller” role (which was intentionally designed to seem townie by being suspicious - Admittedly a subversion of stuff I’ve done before)
In all honesty, before game started, I thought Spirit Medium would be more likely seen as scummy (something I’d give to a wolf rather than town). I mean, I had a Mafia Retributionist in Umineko 1.
Regardless, if some people are unsatisfied with the game, please accept my sincere apology and write it off as a completely unserious bastard experience.
My personal overall evaluation of the game is that it’s a mostly a meme and as a practical setup is a mixed bag, but I hope you found some enjoyable aspect in it.

Basically a Cursed Spirit who is aware that they are a Cursed Spirit gains an awakened ability.
Ways to become aware were:
- you explicitly receive the Blessing from May’s role;
- O.kazo’s role does illusion dispel on you;
- Dispel spell from the Spellbook is used;
- Animancer’s awakened ability is used.
By flavor everyone is a cursed spirit already except O.kazo, they just don’t know it.

It was very unfortunate, but Kelsier posted a question somewhat related to their role in their FAM rolecard, which we know Ash has seen, and May might have seen also.
We figured the modkill was the least integrity-breaking option there (since asking questions in the rolecard is strongly town-indicative anyhow).
