Odyssey to the Fortress of Lunacy - Game Over - Conspirators Win!

Also I like this

I have a really not that crackpot theory that the mark of whatever it is that was announced SOD was due to a neutral ability. I think that ability with wolf teammates assisting in solving who the target might end up being would be quite powerful, and lead to an unfun experience where the game randomly ends if it’s real.

If the person who has this ability is actually a neutral then even the mafia don’t know if it’s real and won’t be so likely to assume it is.

i raise you a double-crackpot
it was due to a town ability made to try to bait wolves into outing themselves

I’d kill whoever that was just to confirm they’re telling the truth if they ever came out tbh

Blue colored text is usually associated being town aligned

Is there a reason why you’re thinking about the unreliability of the modpost of meowl’s role yet you believed in the validity of the Act of Transmutation stuff when the game started?

Okay, I’ll give you that attention.

VOTE: snowe

snowe/night has been kind of lying on the periphery of the thread and being funny (which, to be fair, I do enjoy) but she also hasn’t really been “doing” anything.

You’ve been very self aware about it, which is NAI, and I know you’re certainly capable of playing much more conventionally as a wolf, but I want to hear more about where your head is at after 12 hours.

I reckon I’ll be ignoring these people who are being announced as certain roles until a bit later when people start claiming and dying and it becomes a bit more clear where exactly these things are coming from

The Act of Transmutation gave an explicit description of what it did. The meowl modpost said nothing of the sort.

okay so i may have had a certified Dumbass:tm: moment
namely that ive been intentionally trying to play to my noob wolf meta
and im just now coming around to the conclusion that that might be a Really Stupid Idea

hey better that i realise im being stupid 12 hours into day 1 than 12 hours into day 4? :joy_cat:

also yeah i was trying to position my thread entrance to be as awkward as possible which was really funny to myself in the moment
i was having a riot of a time

Thanks May for the Chomps stuff.

I am caught up.

Do you think that it is possible that parts of the Act of Transmutation announcement could be unreliable or some of it could be wolf-written?

For me it’s just really hard to get behind the juxtaposition of “The submitted abilities may be rejected if deemed too powerful or unfun by the hosts” into “here’s a very powerful, unfun, and swingy ability that has the potential to ruin the game if true”, so that’s why I’ve kind of trying to keep it out of my mind.

Also reading the ability again –

It looks like they can use this every night, and any future negative utility abilities don’t have to be publicly announced? That feels extremely unbalanced to me.

VOTE: snowe

I don’t feel very good doing this, but I don’t think it would be fair if I were to brush this thought aside. I think intentionally playing into a poor wolf meta is something that a nervous wolf snowe would be more likely to do than nervous town snowe.

What about Jarek?

Absolutely, yes. I’m not willing to accept it at face value, but it is public information that should be taken into account.

What about Jarek?
