Painting 0: A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat

I wanted to pick an image that had enough going on it couldnt be fully described in 10 words, but also was relatively simple enough to understand it didnt feel completely overwhelming. I also wanted to pick a painting in the Art Institute of Chicago, which this one is! I actually have a photo of this one saved on my phone as well from when I saw it irl. (shout outs to the people I went with, you know who you are!)

It’s not my favorite painting, I’m not a huge impressionist gal, but I think impressionism works very well for paint chain. Also, it has dogs. Hard to beat that. Surely they won’t turn into cats!

Describer 1: Katze

Welp. Nvm.

This is an accurate description! And to be fair, the rightmodst lady’s gyatt (aka her posterior) is a very iconic part of this painting. Katze mentioned not saying anything about dogs on purpose, because it hates me personally.
