Project Moon UPick - Night 1 (16/17)

you die this night

I got curious, is all. I effectively know nothing about Project Moon, but “something in my role description” and “something you said” made me think my role could’ve had some relation to the Plague Doctor.

It seems like it’s just pure coincidence though. I was looking for a specific word. (Had it been named a certain thing, then I’d thought that my character was the apostle of the Abnormality or something.) ((Meh. IDEK whether there’s even something like that in Project Moon.))

Oh. So, not a whale.
I lost my primary interest.
Thank you for answering me.

meow

I’m going to go drive home cya

with the reveal of the abnormalities I feel like they will be the primary focus of my attention, attempting to determine what each will do.

“From Moby…” Oh. I haven’t checked out that fairy tale in a while. *googles summary*

…ah. I see why this is uh. complicated.

smh next you’ll tell me you haven’t even read all of the dreams of the red chamber in preparation for this game

A fellow anomaly enjoyer then?

Funeral of the Dead Butterflies is a fairly mechanically standard abnormality - it breaches if you do a bad job working with it (or if your justice is too low or fortitude is too high but those aren’t stats here so it’s just kind of a side note). The most notable thing about it is that it does sanity damage instead of physical damage, but instead of making you panic when you’re out of SP you die.

Der Freischutz is a potentially helpful abnormality, as you can request it to shoot things down if there’s a breach - the downsides being that it doesn’t care about collateral and its seventh shot will always be shot arbitrarily (in limbus firing seven bullets with its ego instantly kills the sinner doing it btw.)

Ardor Blossom Moth is a Limbus-exclusive abno which makes it a decent amount harder to guess at its mechanics here - the short version is that it sets everything on fire and then blows it all up, including itself

I am just going to link the wiki page for the silent orchestra because I do not understand it myself

The what? (I’m not even going to try searching for this one. I’ll rely on what I have at my disposal and nothing else.)

source material for the sinner hong lu, the latest sinner to have a canto about them. chinese literature that i have not read but apparently its long

I feel like I’m going to ask the wrong question for the wrong context, but: Aren’t Abnormalities supposed to disrupt Town? (In particular, whenever they breach.)

anyway i voted for the butterflies because all of the lower-difficulty abnos (except the road home) are generally “don’t touch it and you’ll be fine”, plus i wanna get a feel for the mechanics of the abnos with a more standard one

its moreso that it’s helpful while not breaching and harmful when breaching

there’s a few abnos that applies to

so if you do too well or too bad, the counter for breaching lowers, you only want to do normally. it is worrying that the first piece of suppression advice for it is that it will return on its own so just run away from it

Some abnormalities have the potential to be useful, and Der Frei is one of them. They can be hired to fire a bullet that does massive damage to everything it hits. Though of course, it can also choose to do so on it’s own volition and kill most of your employees.

I… am going to abstain from voting. I am content with letting these unknown mechanics be. I fear that, the increase in observation levels require visits, and the more we visit them, the more influence they have over the game.

you gotta Face The Fear, Build The Future
I don’t think PD is an immediate concern anyway, since it’s gimmick is that it needs to build up a large following before it can be a danger, but not knowing anything about any of them will only cause more problems. What we don’t know can and will hurt us.
