@Atlas @Squirrel2412 im giving u two ur 19 gp back, lets not pre-buy a tent. Lets resolve the tent issue in-game coz we might not all be grouped together (we’re like 8 ppl atm i think) and we might need 2 tents or even more if we’re split up

Does the character outfit count towards weight for encumberance purposes?

Yeah

Hey @tutuu, considering we have unlimited rations, doesn’t that also mean unlimited drinking water? The general idea is to avoid bookkeeping, so when would we plan to use a canteen full of water?

I dunno its up to Aret. I took as its okay if we carry one canteen/waterskin and then just dont worry about thirst

That item could be used in combat or in adventuring, could extinguish a fire or something like that. Extinguish a light source like a torch

Could we set up a deadline for ppl to be done with their character creation btw? Like a week or smth?

Some cool stuff u guys might not have known:

  • theres so many non-combat items you can buy that give you some kind of stat bonuses (bonuses to skills, actions, protection, etc). Very situational but cheap and fun

  • theres soooo many feats. Different archetypes of feats. Theres these damnation feats if you wanna roleplay berserk, theres feats dedicated to critical hits, theres feats dedicated to different planes that let you warp around or do cool magic-like stuff without being a spellcaster, there’s feats that only your race can take, theres feats that u can take once u do some achievements in-game. Theres like sooo much wow. Non-spellcasting classes and spellcasting classes are honestly kinda similar imo (depends on ur build ofc), like they aren’t necessarily simpler, u can do sooo much de facto magic stuff without being a magic user. Extra so when you dive into class archetypes, theres like 15+ archetypes of each class. And when u combine endless multiclassing its like. Pretty much everyone can have so much stuff going for them. Fun game, i can’t wait

Thing I should probably talk about

Invoke Realm (Su)
When an idealist channels energy, she channels raw essence rather than positive or negative energy, superimposing a portion of her deity’s planar realm over her location. This effect extends out to a radius of 10 feet, plus 5 feet for every 2 cleric levels she has beyond 1st, to a maximum radius of 55 feet at 19th level. This effect lasts for 1 round plus 1 round per point of the idealist’s Charisma bonus. While this effect is active, the idealist gains a +1 bonus on Diplomacy checks against creatures who worship her deity and a +1 bonus on Intimidate checks against creatures who do not. This bonus increases by 1 at 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter.

This channeled energy imposes itself over the current terrain, changing its visual appearance to more thematically suit the energy’s associated planar realm, but cannot hide obvious hazards or otherwise allow for a creature to hide any more effectively than the normal terrain would. This is an illusion (glamer) effect with a caster level equal to the idealist’s level.

Within the radius of the idealist’s channeling, all alignment and magic planar traits are suppressed and replaced with the traits of the plane that matches the idealist’s planar bond. This includes alignment, gravity, and magic traits.

With this I’ll likely have Cynosure, which has light gravity and is strongly chaotic and strongly good

Light Gravity

The gravity on a plane with this trait is less intense than on the Material Plane. As a result, creatures find that they can lift more. Characters on a plane with the lightgravity trait take a +2 circumstance bonuson attack rolls and on Acrobatics and Ridechecks. All items weigh half as much, and weapon ranges double. Strength and Dexterity don’t change as a result of light gravity, but what you can do with such scores does change. These advantages apply to travelers from other planes as well as natives. Falling characters on a light gravity plane take 1d4 points of damage for each 10 feet fallen (maximum 20d4).

Alignment

On strongly aligned planes, a –2 penalty applies on the Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based checks of all creatures not of the plane’s alignment. The penalties for the moral and ethical components of the alignment trait stack.

A strongly neutral-aligned plane stands in opposition to or in careful balance between all moral and ethical principles: good, evil, law, and chaos. Such a plane may be more concerned with the balance of the alignments than with accommodating and accepting alternate points of view.

In the same fashion as for other strongly aligned planes, strongly neutral-aligned planes impose a –2 penalty on the Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based checks of any creature that isn’t neutral. The penalty is applied separately for neutrality with respect to law and chaos and for neutrality with respect to good and evil; therefore chaotic neutral, lawful neutral, neutral evil, and neutral good creatures take a –2 penalty, and chaotic evil, chaotic good, lawful evil, and lawful good creatures take a –4 penalty.

I believe Will saving throws count as wisdom checks as per rules. Additionally this also affects DCs.
I am picking up Selective Channeling, but I strongly recommend being chaotic and/or good
If that’s too much of a problem well
We can hash it out

I think this is false, saving throws (and spell save DCs) are generally considered their own thing separate from skill checks

Ok yeah what’s confusing me is the wording of ā€˜-based check’ (generic) rather than ā€˜ability check’ (specific)

Because Will is inarguably wisdom based but not a wisdom check specifically

I think ā€œx-based checkā€ just means that it includes skill checks that rely on that ability (e.g. Sense Motive is a Wisdom-based check), as distinguished from literally-just-the-raw-ability-score checks

Seems fair enough

From AoN

Check : A check is a d20 roll which may or may not be modified by another value. The most common types are attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws.

Thanks Paizo
I’m still fine to rule checks as skill and ability checks
The conversation just got me interested on if check was specifically defined

I’m not sure why it’s doing that but it doesn’t look like it’s changing the actual total for any of the other skills, just whether that total is displayed, so it’s probably fine?

am I correct in assuming from the last name that you’re interested in doing archery?
