this is the mythical ‘level 20 retired adventurer magic shop owner’ all the people on reddit talk about
it’s so unfair that I don’t have infinite skill points
i could spend them on absolute dogshit
This is a conspiracy by Big Skill Points to keep us from having fun
We should get national media to look into this
I think level 20 retired adventurer magic shop owners are supposed to have levels in classes that are good. The whole point of the level 20 retired adventurer magic shop owner is that rather than either having a conversation over the table with your players or introducing in-world consequences that would actually be likely, you can punish your players in-game for their characters’ behavior regardless of whether it makes sense with established worldbuilding or common-ness of level 20 characters, so you need to give them levels in a good class to make sure they’ll be able to actually beat up your PCs
when u get disarmed you can take a 5 ft step free action to escape their threat range and pull out your new weapon as a move action, or if you have the quick draw feat (i think that might be good for you using two weapon fighting), you can pull them out as a free action. but then u’d be out of range, so u can use ur move action to get back in them and attack then once, but not full round attack. so staying in range and eating one AoO might be better late game so u can full roun dattack
theres a locked gauntlet u can use vs disarm, there was also this rope that you could tie around your weapon so ur weapon can’t be disarmed (i forgot the name). but u also can’t drop your weapons quickly with those
u can also wear a cestus / spiked gauntlet and punch with it immediately, and u can put a dagger (or something else small like a dart / potion / scroll) in a spring loaded wrist sheath and pull it out as a swift action
sadly i dont think theres any feats that allow u to drink potions as a swift or quick actions, i looked. there is one but only if you were carrying the potion in your hand from the start of the round, which is kinda weird to do, but maybe it could work
Have 6 weapons so you can get repeatedly disarmed only to pull out new ones like a comedy sketch
I have 5 rn
I think I’ll buy the 6th during the campaign
a human fighter can have 29 feats
Genuinely what do you spend feats on after the 15th

Level 19 improved initiative gotta be the most ran out of options feats ever
i havent looked at the higher levels too much
ill want 2 weapon training feats too and 0-3 more armor / shield training feats too im undecided yet
a couple of quick clarifications about this:
- You can’t 5-foot-step if you’re also moving in the same turn (so you could combine a 5-foot-step with a “move action” where you just draw weapons, but not with a move action where you actually move)
- drawing a weapon doesn’t provoke an AOO (so you can do it even if you’re next to someone) (although some similar actions, like picking up an object on the ground, do provoke AOOs)
oh okay
but pulling out non-weapon objects from your backpack like a potion does provoke AoO if you’re in a threatened tile right?
Yes
if your weapon is in your backpack it would also count as retrieving a stored item and similarly provoke an AOO
squirrel on his way to argue that his character wearing 6 scabbards for his 6 weapons so he doesn’t provoke an AoO when he pulls out a new one due to his character RP
