[RP] Play-By-Post Pathfinder

(What do I see?)

The sun is setting, but there’s still enough light for you to get a good look at the view. The rain has finally let up, but the ground is still covered in puddles. There’s a brown-and-grey sparrow staring angrily at its reflection in the water, and a family attempting to stop some young children from intentionally stomping through the puddles on purpose.

The necromancy section is of…… rather questionable quality. The author appears to hold the opinion that literally every spell of the “Necromancy” school is intrinsically unethical to use, even completely ordinary spells like False Life (which essentially gives the caster some temporary vitality to fend off injuries) or Cause Fear (which you saw Wanderer cast earlier today).

Supper is clearly also inspired by Galtan traditions, adapted to locally-available ingredients. The main dish is pork sauteed with diced onions, celery, and carrots, with apricot tarts and Galtan-style crustless rolls of white bread on the side. The establishment has apparently secured permission to serve alcohol, which it is using exclusively to serve imported Galtan wines.

There are a few other patrons dining here; based on their clothing, there’s definitely a skew towards people who are reasonably wealthy (unsurprising, considering the price). Perhaps surprisingly, it seems that the Amélie for whom the business is named is also dining among you, at her own table; you’d guess that she’s in her fifties, or maybe her early sixties.

(wanderer… is… unethical…)

{…The entire book isn’t. Accurate.}

Canary sighs.

(This place is problematically fetishizing French culture :/)

Paprika dines with the exquisite, though slightly uncanny, table manners she learned from a book. Periodically, she glances toward Amélie’s table, considering striking up a conversation.

Canary fairly quickly eats all of her bread, then begins to slow down as she mentally catalogues the type of place she’s in.

((Arius will follow whoever doesn’t stay at Amélie’s.))

((There ya go.))

Arius headed back to the belltower after finishing reading his book. When others were discussing where the party would stay, Arius simply mentioned that he would follow Wanderer.

(It is not wrong to stay with the crowd, but… Staying with the leader sounds more promising.)

Drakor retreated to his pack, then withdrew an abacus.

He approached the window again and closed the curtains. Once that was done, he leaned the abacus against the curtains, where it would fall over if the curtains were distrubed.

(Idk what the rules are for improvising an alarm but hopefully this works)

(Realistically if Drakor and Arius left, Lionel left. Not particularly satisfied with his own findings, but pursuing that lead seemed nominally impossible at this moment)

Based on Amélie’s own table manners, she was clearly educated in Galtan etiquette, and it seems to come naturally to her. She is clearly watching her guests, but she doesn’t remark on your etiquette; instead, she seems focused on finishing her meal as fast as she reasonably can without being actively rude. Her jewelry is clearly fashioned in a Galtan style, albeit clearly one several decades out of date at least.

Partway through the meal, she does have a hushed conversation with one of her employees about their meal plans for the next day. Unlike her employees, her accent is Galtan (you may if you wish make a Linguistics check for additional information)
