(Like obviously the target will be like “woah that was weird why did I do that” but it’s not like “Ah Someone Has Clearly Inserted Magic Thoughts Into My Brain”
And it’s only illegal to use Command to mae people do illegal things?)

(Reposting, unsure if seen)
…I should try harder. “Nor to him.” The stern facade is hard to keep up, and it’s probably scaring him anyway so-.
The tense look on my face breaks away as I start to ramble. “…I uhm. Don’t. Want to hurt you. Sorry if I-…”
“I’m not great with people. I had heard- you wanted to consult with the Baron and he rejected you so. Even though it was important. Could you- tell me more about that?”
(Gimme a sec)
Succeeding on a Saving Throw : A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack. Likewise, if a creature’s saving throw succeeds against a targeted spell, you sense that the spell has failed. You do not sense when creatures succeed on saves against effect and area spells.
They would notice if they succeeded on the saving throw that there was Some Kind Of Hostile Force, but if they failed they wouldn’t notice it at all (though they might be able to figure out from context that Something Fucky happened)
depends on country + jurisdiction. In your current location that’s mostly true, but it’s also illegal to
use magic that directly controls people’s minds to force someone to do something that would not have been legal to achieve with force or the threat of force (magic like Charm Person is not illegal, and mind controlling magic is allowed if violence would be allowed, e.g. to make someone who is attacking you stop doing that).
so it would depend on what specifically you were trying to make them do (but like, it’s not illegal to be Generally Threatening)
(So, provided everybody else is not like “no absolutely do not do this that will be annoying”, Paprika will do the following:)
Paprika turns to the younger guard and glares at him with malice: what an idiot, completely unable to pick up on his senior’s clear issue and submitting to somebody like that. (Evil Eye for -2 to saves).
She positions herself on the other side of the door from the guard, then speaks in a strong, commanding voice. “Leave. Flee.”
He fidgets with his hat. “We were attacked in the middle of the day on Oathday by some kind of monster. We were able to fall back, and the Sower was able to patch up most of the injuries, but we weren’t able to kill the beast. I went to petition His Lordship that very same day, since dealing with that sort of thing is supposed to be one of his duties, and his staff told me I’d have to come back on Sunday.”
He sighs. “Honestly, I’d’ve understood if they wanted me to come back the next morning. By the time I made it up to see him, it was already pretty late. But telling me to wait until Sunday … it looks like it’ll turn out alright, but they didn’t even give me an explanation.”
“There’s no reason we have to choose,” says the older Watchman. “We can keep investigating the cult, since the Watch was already looking into that, and you can take care of the hospital.”

Yeah that fails
The younger Watchman sprints away from you, moving up the stairs and out of the cellar as quickly as he can.
…Oh. Explanation over.
…Is there anything else I. Really need to hear? I’ve… got everything.
…Uhm. “What was his… manor? Where you went to see him. Like. And… did the staff look okay?”
Paprika shuts the door behind the other guard and stands in front of it as to block its opening. She turns to the older guard.
“Do you have anything you’d like to explain to us on this subject?” Her voice has its overly-young-sounding quality back.
((Dafu… Okay, I guess we initiate combat with a surprise round then?))
(Not combat AFAIK, it’s not visibly a spell in any way, she just looks at somebody meanly and gives an order and they obey)
((I know. I was talking about ganging up on the older guard who clearly knows more about the cultists.))
He furrows his brow in confusion. “Sorry, do you mean — where was it? What did it look like? I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking me.”
“Uhm.”
“What it looked like.”
