(do I know the rough time when I met with the Messire?)
~an hour after dusk
maybe slightly less than an hour depending on what exactly you define as dusk vs. sunset vs. twilight vs. whatever
(when do people usually have dinner in setting [this is a super broad question but I have unholy eating hours so it does feel necessary])
most people would eat dinner ~around sunset at this time of year (since theyâre working in the fields at basically every hour of light, and canât stay up too late because candles and so on arenât free), but itâs conceivable that someone who wasnât working in the fields might have dinner a bit earlier if they felt like it
(and in practice other people might eat it a bit earlier too, if theyâre not working from literally sunrise to sunset, it depends on the person â c.f. the tavern already having customers at the start of the campaign)
Drakor followed from a distance.
(Ill enter at the end once Wanderer+militia have gone in)
âApologies for what I presume is an additional interruption, but it is a matter of haste. I presume you donât have to be caught up on the circumstances?â Wanderer gives a slight bow.
The forge is rather cramped with so many people, but you manage to squeeze your way inside. The stifling heat of the forge is still just as intense as it was on previous visits, but Sten is no longer working on nails. Instead, he has his largest hammer in hand, and is standing ready next to the anvil. Despite the heat, heâs donned the breastplate he apparently owns. (Arius, you saw no sign of the breastplate the last time he was in the forge; he must have retrieved it and put it on in the few minutes you were gone.)
Kamilla is gone.
(do you still want to say this, you can if you want but Iâm not sure if it was based on particular assumptions that no longer hold,)
He says this as he walks in before trailing off right at the end, then saying âNINE HELLSâ when he realizes whatâs happened.
âMmm. And just what do you imagine those circumstances are?â
Leta narrows her eyes, looking around the room. âSten, you have to realize how this looksââ
âHaaaah. Youâre clearly ready for a fight with that armor youâre wearingâŚin a forge of all places. Are you really considering fighting your own people? Come, let us discuss matters with civility.â Wanderer urges.
He takes a step back.
Itâs honestly a little hard to move around, considering the number of people in the room, but you can manage it.
âI donât want to fight you either,â he says levelly. âBut Iâll do it if itâs the only way to protect my family.â
His hands curl into balls. His voice sounds defeated. âWhy did she leave?â
(Iâll follow into the forge)
âSheâs visiting a friend. Seemed safest, under the circumstances.â
âUh huh.â He doesnât even pretend that he believes him.
âWe need to know who that person is. Considering youâre all about safety, you should know that sheâll have to answer even if you somehow club all us in. It would be the safest thing in the world that she does it willingly.â Thereâs an earnest quality to his voice, like heâs trying to connect to his wavelength to convince him.
âAnd doing what youâre thinking of doing would just make it worse!â
