The beatings will continue until townplay improves: Part 5 - The Crustening - Night 1 (10/11)

You. Theres something explicitly bugging me about this but i think its getting at something larger

To check, what would your response be to me saying “w!may can easily just turn their reads around as the game progresses, this is practically necessary to appear towny”

Then that will be more difficult than giving herself an avenue to do that + people will call her out on it. Specifically the villagers will start omgusing her. Plus she needs an excuse to never get NKed if she townsides and defends every misexecution the village makes

close enough i’m counting that as ‘when that happens people will re-evaluate’ thanks

The more I marinate on it the more I liked Hippo’s posts (in terms of townyness). It took me a bit but they have a VERY good aftertaste

May 75%
Hippo 71%

tutuu is hitting notes that he wasn’t hitting last game in terms of ‘yea that’s a tutuu thing’ which is maybe good you know townies are their true selves, particularly with the dampening on trying to be more restrained you still have the pull. Now the question is where i’m getting my idea of a ‘tutuu thing’ from but i’m not checking meta less than 24 hours into the game (ignore that i looked at tutuu’s meta briefly early game we are in the middle of the horseshoe)

I have better question for you, what did you understand what makes me wolfy?

:chart_with_downwards_trend: it might just be that i am the one most affected by it but it generally felt rather shallow? which is where i’ve been at with like all of his posts. His posts have been getting funnier though insofar as that tell actually works

In true FoL fashion I see we’re 20 hours in without anyone having more than 1 vote on them

to interpolate besides just ‘oh this did work last game and was something i was building up’ i think i am using how funny i find the posts as a barometer for what’s typically called comfort?

some people had more than 1 vote on them for periods! probably not more than 2 i don’t remember

how it feels trying to get a town read for being funny from soweli

You’re not doing any of your pairing reads (which I don’t understand) when this was a heuristic you seemed to believe in a lot last game. You’re just trying to push me and soweli as partners based off me voting for Chomps, which feels like a wolfy push, you feel like you’re oversimplifying the game to make sense and be understood

I think that in a vacuum this is a towny opener but for snow specifically it’s NAI. The reason for that is snow has the capability to tell the utmost truth as wolf, without trying to include an ounce of lying or wolf agenda

Snow, to try to give you a direction, don’t be scared of looking “foolish” by explaining your reads. You don’t have to post the way everyone else is posting, we’re aware of your inexperience. Just feel free to share any game relevant thoughts you have, even if you’re unsure they’re good, and let us judge your words. I think that’s one way we could read you

Do you have any more thoughts similar to this? The pairings thing you’re doing with early game votes?

I did.

How did I manage to develop a wolf meta in one game…

I’ve played mountainous games before, and the struggle with trying to not turn the game into a RNG fest. For that reason I despise fluff, but it’s bound to happen regardless and I’m aware of that. Currently I’m just backreading the game since I had troubles accessing the website for the whole day. After I get enough context on the game, I’ll spew some game-related thoughts
