Maybe the word government wasnt the correct one. Senate or whatever. The people with the money
to be fair i think that government shutdown was more on the senate than it was on trump. my memory of the details is fuzzy though
Whats bizarre is how well the US economy did in last 4 years than most other countries. In UK our election this year a big media talking point was “how was our post-covid recovery so much worse and slower than USA”. I saw people in interviews saying they vote Republican because Biden tanked the economy and its like bro in UK groceries have doubled and last year inflation was highest than its ever been, and a lot of Europe isnt much better. If people had any idea what is happening in world by literally a quick google it dispells like half the reasons to vote trump.
okay but prices up and it’s biden’s fault
Yeah people tend to not think like this.
Ugh
Hi Chloe. Hope you’re doing okay ya know considering
Barry Loudermilk pretty much won our district. The thing about Barry is I sent him an email one time and he sent me a reply explanining the debt celling and it felt like he actually read it rather than made his aid read it, so I’m thinking he might actually read some of the emails he gets, which makes me think I could probably get an offical opinion on his thoughts about trans/gay stuff. He has a bad track record but I was kinda wondering if maybe, even though he pretty much will always win the district, whether he will actually think and give a good faith answer
Any suggestions on what I should write to him
I’m alive and healthy which is something to be happy about I guess
Feeling grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing queer people and allies. Rly love y’all tbh.
Hope you’ve been doing well too friend
Idk republicans are going to have such a thin margin if they win the house any possible idea to sway 1 rep away is a good idea if they want to do anything ducky with rights
About to head into work and im 99% sure a majority of the people there are going to be happy today which sucks
Yay tennessee
Genuinely curious what the common sentiment will be at uni today
I’m going to incorporate my massive wolfint skills into this message
I live in illinois so like
Probably not gonna be trump support but you know
The democratic candidate in 2028 needs to promise better economy and appeal to people in rural areas
From my very vague understanding both parties had boogeymen that they blamed problems for but trumps boogeymen were in smaller quantity and that alienated less people overall? Maybe?
So maybe optimal to find a boogeyman that has the least amount of people being part of it
People in rural areas arent inherently right leaning (globally). They are so locally for the US but not necessarily globally
I think rural people always support the old status quo and dont want change and urban people always oppose it and want change
Truthfully, it’s difficult to say. Assuming it was not unwinnable, I think that Harris repeatedly signalling she would not be fundamentally different from Biden was a loser. It associated her with the negative economic sentiment. As I said before, I think conceding to Republican’s framing on immigration which makes them look bad and trying to outflank from the right was also stupid.
Mark Robinson is a radioactive candidate, but so is Trump. Why was this a blowout for Josh Stein? It just seems like they completely lost on the messaging front nationally.
