How this works
- The game itself is pretty simple. You and your partner are given different words to start. After you say your words, you both try to say another word that relates to both words you just said at the same time. Then, you all try to say a word that relates to the new words you said. Repeat this process until you both say the same thing.
- Example round

- These players were trying to say a word that relates to the three words they are given. In round 2, for example, Player 1 chose “nature” as trees and cats can be both found in nature, while Player 2 said “Moderators” because 2 FoL moderators are commonly represented by trees and cats. In this match, this group would have won by round 4, with both saying “Chloe” as a word that relates to “Homosexuality” and “Human”, all finding this relation from Chloe being a human who commonly states her homosexuality through statements such as “i’m gay”.
How it will be adapted to forums
*A random word trio using https://randomwordgenerator.com will be given out publicly. This is to prevent metagaming or the random words you choose being the same.
- Instead of saying it at the same time, as that’s not feasible, everyone will have a private message in which you will say and be given your words. Everyone have 24 hours to do this. Anyone do not comply with this is instantly eliminated from the game.
- If everyone gave a word, anyone who managed to pair up with at least one other person is safe for the round, and any non-paired words will be publicly announced. In each following turns everyone needs to pair up at least three words, up to as many words they want/can, but at least one of those words need to be their own previously submitted word. (Since it’s highly unlikely that all of those words will be coherently related to each other.) And any new paired up players will be safe in the round.
- This continous until either at least half of the current players managed to safely pair up, or the round finished a predetermined amount of turns. At this point any player who didn’t manage to pair up is eliminated. (The maximum turn count of the rounds will depend on the playercount.)
- After every round, every players results will be revealed in a table like the example one.
- We reserve the right to WotM out specific starting word combinations that would break the game in an un-fun manner.
- In case of everyone managing to pair up in the same turn: If everyone submitted the same word, we will add one extra starting word, and restart the round. If not everyone submitted the same word, the players in the smallest pairing group (who weren’t paired up already) won’t be paired up. (and getting new words, if necessary.), if those groups all have the same amount of players, the group who managed to relate their words to the least words from the prevous turn will be safe. (host POV, not player’s) if this still doesn’t break the tie, everyone advances the next round, and an extra starting word will be added.
- The game continues until there are only 2 players remaining. (Or in case every remaining players are in a full synch through multiple restart of the rounds.) The remaining players are the winners.
Rules:
- Talking in thread to discuss the hilarious word parings will be allowed, but strategizing or trying to signal to your teammate will not be allowed. Speaking of this, Please don’t communicate in any way with your partner about your choices in ongoing rounds. Even jokingly. That ruins the spirit of the game .
- You can not attempt to game the system in any way by going against the spirit of the game or the rules by trying to metagame by repeating words or keeping some kind of pattern across rounds (such as saying numbers every round and then making your next word always the next highest number). Any attempts to go against the spirit of the game will be banned and we will make you submit a new word. If we rule you have to resubmit because it’s in some way meta-gamey, the ruling is final and I won’t take arguments. Please don’t try to bend the rules to your advantage, just don’t. We reserve the right to flat-out remove you from the game if you do.
- Since the paired words in each round won’t be revealed until the end of the round, it is possible to pair up with words from earlier turns, so anyone who managed to pair up, please keep the word for yourself, until the end of the round.
Game will start in a week.
