Oooh i could do like

A draft system of some stuff. Like packages. A package of class, race, items. Like in folermon. Players do the draft to secure the packages. Then build their team (they can mix and match), they got flexibility. And then they like fight. Each other. Or smth. Dunno

Although… Controlling only 1 character gets u invested more

So some RP might be good. It might be fun

I just dont want like. Talking. About lore. Im not good at that and i don’t find that very fun

Maybe like subjective decsions on difficulty checks

Like. Freeform actions. “You can do whatever youwant, its up to me tutuu to decide difficulty check for ur action”. Yeah could do that

I would also like it if the entire group of players submits their actions at once, i resolve them, repeat. Like a mafia game. Basically low committal, it happens fast and conveniently

I would find jt funny if the clssses and spells are genders and sexualities. Like. Give it my own spin. The FoL spin. The FoLermon typings type of spin

The post was half a joke but there is in fact a stupid amount of onus on the DM to kind of do a lot of game design that 5e didnt do, like encounter balance, thus “making up half the rulings yourself”

Its not actually much of an issue for the players?

The players dont see a lot of the stuff the DM has to deal with in 5e

ig i see what u mean by encoutner balance since ik a lot of dms who just like, homebrew their own monsters and all that
its a skill i dont particulalry try to hone as a dm (#1 combat hater)

I believe this is an incredibly important criticism because yes, 5e is quite approachable from a player PoV and I have legitimately soured on 3.5e’s bullshit

It is especially notable for me now that im dming my second pathfinder 2e campaign and encounter design is so snappy and easy, so I have a lot more room to Add Cool Shit

That being said yeah we defo have different things we’d want out of a ttrpg, daggerheart doesn’t particularly appeal to me but from everything I know about it it could be a blast in the right group
