apple got big like, right before the turn of the century iirc, about 5 years, putting them at ~30 years of being big
idt many of the corporations that dominate our lives these days existed back then (though there were probably different corporations idk)

i actually kinda think megacorps and the market in general is one of the more predictable things, especially the way markets are behaving around AI is very, very reminiscent of early internet hype. People knew it was gonna do something, and that something would net a lot of money to whoever did it, but picked a lot of losers along the way
