yeah unfortunately meat is far from the only food item that can carry bacteria that could end up hurting you

the odds are low but nonzero and the solution is like a single drop of soap so it seems like a no-brainer to me

Rinsing off dishes before putting them into the dishwasher wastes an estimated 6,000 gallons of water per person per year IIRC.

the ez solution is have a sterile area to work in and to wash your food in a separate space

i guess think of it this way:
there’s one set of bowls exclusively for the preparation of any food. these get soaped at all times

there’s one set you eat on. these get soaped once in a while.

i do agree that if you’re using soap on those non-prep dishes at least once in a while or after anything particularly risky you’re probably more than fine yeah

still if you’re feeding 3+ people the dishwasher ends up being a better option logistically most of the time though, at which point you can soap everything every time for literally free so
